Tore,
thanks for the generous offer of help with MultiEdit. I downloaded it and tried it for a day but after so many years using Brief I find any windows editor just too slow. With the old DOS Brief all the setup vars are simply DOS environment vars. I always have at least four projects going and have .BAT files to set up each one. I can set the Brief environment in the .BAT file, each one has a different Brief resume file, and then fire up the project I want with all the drives mapped, type B in the DOS window and be right back on the exact place in all the same .PRG files I had open the last time I worked on that project.

I have to admit though, I was amazed at how it worked exactly like Brief. All the same keys, etc. and at the same time being able to use the mouse to move around and mark things.

John.

I started using MultiEdit in "Brief mode", but after a while I switched into MultiEdit default mode, which after a while proved to be much better. I must admit that I deleted and added a lot of code when I used the numeric + and - keys in Brief mode, standardizing on CTRL-C/X/V is easier to remember.
