Claude,
>I just tried to find my copy, but, I believe Cathy Gerro wrote that chapter. The fact that he didn't write the chapter and the fact that he doesn't (to my knowledge) use interop in his framework and the fact that he doesn't do a lot of talking about interop leads me to these conclusions...
These statements you are posting as "facts" are wrong.
- I wrote the entire ".NET for VFP Developers" book including the Interop chapter...Cathi was the technical editor, not the author.
- The MM .NET sample applications access both SQL Server and VFP data and allow you to switch between them dynamically at run time. We ship the VFP Northwind database with MM .NET. In our next version we are shipping a new Command Builder specifically for the purpose of making it easier to access VFP data from .NET.
- I devote an entire session to Interop at our seminar and distribute two extensive Interop white papers written by Rick Strahl to attendees.
- I have helped MANY companies access existing VFP code from .NET so they didn't lose their investment
