I see your point, but to be fair, if you were looking for assistance or information on using SQL Server as the backend, then assuming you would still be using VFP as the frontend the appropriate forum would indeed be here under VFP - there is a topic here for that. There is also a topic for using VFP and .net together. There is not a topic for converting VFP apps though perhaps there should be? It is ocurring quite often in the commercial sector and businesses are looking for people to do that so in that sense, a topic for that is probably necessary. I haven't seen many adverts for converting VFP apps to anything else recently, but I have seen quite a few for looking for someone experienced in converting from VFP to dotnet. It is a reality and there are businesses out there looking for that right now. In that sense, or even if there is a UT user out there right now whose employer is planning on converting their VFP app to dotnet could benefit from Kevin's seminar and it makes sense to post it here. I also feel his more recent post on the purpose of the seminar was very informative and it certainly made me wish I could attend!

>First, I'm guessing the UT management doesn't have a problem with it, since these types of posts have occured multiple times.

>I do believe VFP people who are getting involved in .NET may still find these posts helpful, even if they're posted on the VFP forum. I know for a fact that some UT 'newbies' only believed the UT had forums for Fox and SQL Server. As some of the material discusses integration of the two technologies, I think the posts are topical.

>Let me ask this question (not directed at you, just in general): if it were a post regarding the use of SQL Server as a back-end, do you think we'd be seeing the same reactions? My point is that negative biases exist regarding .NET and those who teach it are so strong, that emotion usually drives the direction of the discussion.
