SQL Server doesn't propose a complete rewrite of a vfp application. If there is a negative bias towards .NET here, I would say it's because those developers have a real sense of the time and money involved in converting those apps (especially if they own, write and maintain them). In this case, a seminar on interop might be a better approach (not an afterthought in the form of parting words or a last chapter) In other words, rewriting everything in .NET would not be a trivial undertaking. It seems the developers that are in support of the seminar are the ones looking to broaden their computer skills (and there certainly isn't anything wrong with that either).
My point is that this debate is good and it makes no sense to attack anyone for debating the pros or cons of the issue(unless, of course, the comments are rude and insulting)...

>Let me ask this question (not directed at you, just in general): if it were a post regarding the use of SQL Server as a back-end, do you think we'd be seeing the same reactions? My point is that negative biases exist regarding .NET and those who teach it are so strong, that emotion usually drives the direction of the discussion.
