It's difficult to engage in any serious conversation with someone who repeatedly characterizes some of the folks we've mentioned as fat-cat buffet speakers, equates announcements with hijacking, and refers to the tool as DOT NOT. Your prejudices are clear.

I don't know the first thing about the situation you described (the shop taking 3 years to deliver something). You may want to think about your last point, about the skill and devotion of the developers (which I agree with). There may be dozens of reasons for a shop taking three years, independent of the technology.
