Gosh perhaps we should take a poll then. I, for one, welcome the advertisement/post. As matter of fact, I even went out to California and took one of Kevin's MM for .NET/C# gizmo classes. (Which, by the way, I thought was excellent.) Now since I don't use the MM for VFP framework I don't spend any time out at www.oakleafsd.com and I'm not on any mailing list. Hey - if it wasn't posted here - I never would of known about it! As for 'denigrate VFP and insult its users'...I'm not sure how you jumped to that conclusion but I simply disagree with it. If you can't handle people creating conversion software then I think you might be in the wrong line of work Jim. Get over it...don't take it personal..blah blah blah....
And remember, someday VFP will die, someday .NET will die - so for the sake of sanity in this fourm... WHO CARES !!!???!! Let it go.... (or if you want keep making posts and bringing attention to a thread you didn't like to start with)...
geeeze!

>When MarcusE (well, Ellen Whitney actually started it I believe) did the first such conversion service advertisement both here and on the Web Connect forum some time ago there was a firestorm in both places.
>
>Why did KevinM feel such an urge to repeat the exercise yet again?... Did he expect to get a different reaction this time? If so, then he miscalculated, yet he felt it proper to go right ahead and announce the Montreal seminar too in full knowledge of the reception of his latest advertisement!!!
>Some of us read this as his need for revenue exceeding his common sense and good taste.
>
>You can snicker and giggle all you want, but the fact of the matter is that it has been made crystal clear in the past that such "announcements" are UNwelcomed here. The conversion "sponsors" sure have a strange understanding of "business building" when they repeat an UNwelcomed advertisement AND THEN DO IT AGAIN TOO!
>
>You can find it laughable that "the VFP zealots go on the war path" but what really is pathetic in the extreme is that the .NETters have to jump in at every opportunity to denigrate VFP and insult its users. They would show so much more class if they just shut up, but they cannot pass on an opportunity to belittle and brag.
>
>I'd say that I take it that KevinM (and the other sponsors) ARE personally attacking me. Having been shown once already that such advertisements are not welcomed in a VFP forum, yet doing it TWICE more, what else am I supposed to think? He/they sure don't indicate any sense of caring for my (and the many many others) opinion when it was done the first time.

>>Hi John
>> Actually this is not just a VFP forum. I think this is a forum where there are VFP and .NET topics. As a matter of fact there is a VFP and .NET topic here in fox land.
>>
>>I find it funny that a small announcement about a VFP to .NET class (which someone could take to just learn about .NET) causes the VFP zealots go on the war path. It's like they feel kevin is personally attacking them.
>>
>>Thanks,
>>Rodman
