Don't miss out on this opportunity to join me, DotNetNuke Core Team Member, Jim Duffy as I teach you the ins and outs of implementing and extending the popular, FREE, open-source content management portal, DotNetNuke 3.0 (www.dotnetnuke.com). This post-conference event will take place immediately after DevTeach 2005 in Montreal, Cananda on June 22, 2005. For more information head to the DevTeach 2005 website at http://www.devteach.com.

If you're curious about DotNetNuke 3.0 or are considering implementing it within your organization then this session is a must-attend for you.

Morning post-conference: Creating Web Portals With DotNetNuke 3.0

In this post-conference workshop attendees will learn how to install DotNetNuke as a precursor to learning how to create, add content to, and secure a DotNetNuke 3.0 web portal. Each of the pre-built modules and a few 3rd party modules will be covered to provide the attendee with a rich set of portal building components. In addition, attendees will also learn how to use the administration tools in order to set up users and security groups, assign access permissions to portal objects, and create and apply skins to a DNN portal.

Prerequisites: Ability to read/write HTML helpful but not a necessity.

Afternoon post-conference: Developing Custom DotNetNuke 3.0 Modules

In this workshop attendees will learn the programming techniques to extend the DotNetNuke framework by building and deploying custom content modules. Topics covered include exploring the classes contained in the DotNetNuke namespaces, working with the data access provider, integrating modules into the DotNetNuke framework, working with the visual design of a module, and packaging the module for deployment.

Prerequisites: Creating Web Portals With DotNetNuke 3.0 or experience creating DotnetNuke portals. This class requires developer-level experience working with VB.NET (or C#), Visual Studio.NET, and a relational database system. Microsoft SQL Server is used used in class but other databases can be used with DotNetNuke 3.0 as well.

I look forward to seeing you there!
