>Alex,
>our application is not designed to hide the taskbar. if it is run over a normal network or on a stand alone pc then it runs like any other app, with the taskbar showing. on RD, for all of our customers using it, it starts full screen and when they dial into their server most have to start our app by double clicking on an icon on the desktop, in these instances they can see the taskbar. if in the setup of RD we specify that our app runs automatically on login then the users just see's our app but not the taskbar no matter what i do. the problem is arising because we call an external report writer for some custom reports and it pops up in the background. they can use "alt" + "tab" to flick between the applications but this is not ideal and honestly i think that it confuses them as they cannot see the taskbar and "loose" our application and then start logging out of RD which is causing its own problems. So my problem is that i need users who have our application starting automatically on login to also see the taskbar.

Ah! I understand... yes, when you tell the client to start a program, in reality what happens is that you are telling it that you are ONLY interested in that program, so it won't show you the taskbar of the remote system.

What you have to do is not use that feature and instead use either the Startup folder (see under Start > All Programs > Startup) or tweak the user in the administrator console, setting it up so that the program gets executed on login. Both of these, are, on the remote computer.

Hope this helps.
Alex
