Not to harp on this, but if you open the scx file with an associated data environment and check the MEMO fields that contain the path to each cursor object, I think you'll find that VFP keeps the minimum required path in there, relative to what I presume is the home directory.

I have just opened one, and the path in the PROPERTIES memo field was:

Database = ..\distrib\details.dbc

(just check any record with CURSOR in the CLASS memo field)

In addition, I looked at the generated EXE file, and it seems to be pointing to the DBC using the same path (I couldn't find any occurance of the DBC without it, anyway).

It's possible VFP 5.0a has changed things..... You might wanna check it out - it may simplify things.
