I was updating my message, but it just got a reply. Anyway, without seeing it yet, here is a continuation:

Now from the guy whose wife is not a cheater.

I know 2 of them: B's and C's.
B knows about C's, so he knows that there is a wife, who is cheating.
C knows about B's...
But now we need to apply logic from above, e.g. B now should figure, that his wife is a cheater and the same would be for C. So they both would kill their wives and since they both would be killed now, the last guy would not kill his innocent one by mistake...

>>>I'm not sure which word you are looking for. Sorry :)
>>>
>>>You are right. He would be shot immediately. But why? Because if
>>
>>He? < g > I thought it would be a woman, who is going to be killed :) But may be this guy changed his mind and decided to kill himself :)
>>
>>there was only 1 but the husband of the unfaithful wife knew of none, he would know that would have to be his wife.
>>>
>>>Now using the above logic, what would happen if there were 2 unfaithful wives.
>>
>>Ok, here is the logic for 2:
>>
>>The Mayor says that there is 1 wife, who is cheating.
>>
>>I know her, it's B's wife. (that would be thoughts of a man who has a cheater).
>>
>>However, B doesn't know about her, so from Mayor's statement it's clear it's his wife. So he is going to kill her tonight. However, would be Mayor so stupid to allude it so directly? He is obviously not, so B should know another wife, who is cheating. Wait a minute, I know one and B knows one. So, it's MY wife is a cheater. Somebody's blood is going to be leacked (? what's the word) tonight and I know, who it would be. Oh, Stella, Stella! (crying).
>
>That's basically right. As you said if there were only one unfaithful wife, she would be shot immediately that night.
>
>But after the first night no one is shot.
>Every other man in town knows there are 2 unfaithful wives.
>
>But this one man, let's say the mayor knows only of one. When he sees that no one is shot. He knows there must be 2 women and because he knows only of one the other must be his wife.
>
>So now let's say there are 3 unfaithful wives?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
