Intel has released their 64 bit cpus and WinXP 64 bit is at manufacturing.
We develop VFP applications for the larger corporates. Our clients have indicated that they will not in be investing in anything 32 bit in a years time.
In 18 - 36 months no corporate will be seen dead with a 32 bit application, just as was the case with 16 bit applications after the arrival of the 32 bit os's.
More than anything, No 64 bit support for VFP will definitely be the final nail in Foxpro's coffin. End of Story.
Sure, smaller companies will still use 32 bit apps for a while longer just as Foxpro 2.6 is still widely used.
.Net is a minor threat compared to no 64 Bit support in VFP.
