In South Africa, as would be internationally i expect, most larger corporates are on a 3 year hardware replacement cycle, new boxes will come with the latest cpus' and os's which would be 64 bit in the comming year.
Even if the replacement cycle takes longer than 3 years, the point is that 64 bit is going to be the order of the day and when it is, there will be no new investment in 32 bit applications by the larger organisation (although this may not be the case in smaller organisations).
The 64 bit - 32 bit paradigm in the near future will be the same as the 32 bit - 16 bit paradigm of today, and just as the 16 bit part of todays paradigm is non existent today, so too will the 32 bit part of the futures paradigm also fall away.
