Mostly I agree with you - 64 bit will be less important from a purely technical point of view than changing to 32 bit from 16 bit. Even if database apps [using inordinate amounts of data] will probably be one of the few areas where 64bit really helps. But 64 Bit will be marketed like crazy (what other reason to upgrade ?). And since new projects are not always sold on technical reasons, but on visions and even misconceptions, it will hurt vfp more than "reasonble" based technological grounds. Any other 64 bit script language will be perceived to be more up to date by many decision makers.
