There are many projects where one or other framework could be used and will save a lot of time programming.
Framework is good for a single programmer which like to show client in short term mocking project which will bring him a new contract.

Yes framweorks add a lot of sometimes useless code.

Everything depend on the target. In some apps is good to use framework in some not. After using of framework to build faster forms you can add your own code and specific dataprocessing. Framework only extend VFP and help for rapid developemnt.
