Many of us do that - thats why we like VFP - it's a tool for dreamers (and independents) hoping to create new realities (and wealth). NOT - it seems is more for enterprize solutions and corporate bench developers

You got Mr.'s Rick, Christof and Claude doing highend VFP/ASP/NET hybrid servers.

Ed Hardin is doing real good with a broad vertical package.

Jordan has a few products

Jose Pols has a high end products.

Baird and Koff (Quay) have a commercial VFP app in the market too!

You Got ACCPAC and ABBRA and RISC Inc!

And did you know that the NAv-Star system (GPS maps) was prototyped with dBase V!!!

Even I have traded some copyrights for cash and stock and have others ready to market or in final phase of development.

I used to think high end markets were the place to be - but since seeing the success of VFP geeks with "little" programs in broad niche markets - I have converted!

IMO, the best markets are those that are willing to pay between 100 and 300 $US/year for renewals. Get yourself 1000 to 2000 customers - do the math - it looks good. Support can average as low as 1 hour a day if the product is intuiative.

They are niche markets that download eval ware - and if they like the product - and/or it does something very special for them they will buy, and, when the message box (like on the UT) comes and says "You need to renew" - they ante up again!

Sometimes we keep our niche market projects "close to the chest":-). But they're out there - just waiting. A NOT object is too big to download - but a small foot print VFP project is perfect.
