Yes this would be a great thing (there are VB and C runtimes installed already). Think about small apps/exe you can made or let commercially to everyone to download without a huge installation.

I'v disscussed this earlier in VFP ERs but only kind of response from MS I'v seen is ~not going to happen as it is not so simple!

Don't know what's really the difference between to get dotnet framework updtes/upgrades and VFP or matter a fact weekly (or daily) Win security updates.

Now when VFP9 has gotten quite a lot of publicity on magazines, journals etc. it would be a great step to make VFP runtimes Win autoupdatable.
