>John, just got curious about your application (for some post to Therry, I believe) and visited your web page's dicussion boards, and I wanted to congratulate you for evidently have all (or a vast majority) of them very happy with your product. I also noticed that no one complained that your programs are written in Fox, and more wierd, I did not notice any of your clients want you to re-write the program in .NET, is there anything wrong with the CPAs? Don't they read the news? <g>

That's a great post. No, CPA's are a very conservative bunch. I KNOW a lot of my users switched to Windows simply because we were discontinuing our DOS version. They are very, very slow to upgrade existing hardware or software unless there is a very, very good reason to do so. I'm convinced many of them would still be working the DOS world if they could.

I have a good friend (actually a CPA who is one of my beta testers) and he still uses Leading Edge wordprocessor. I can't convince him to give it up because he just likes the way it works.

In some respects, I don't fit the mold of a typical CPA. I'm always looking for a better mousetrap.

Most of the accounting community probably have no idea what .NET is or what it can do for them. I certainly haven't seen any compelling reason to move to .NET. I've heard that MS is thinking of bringing back VB (without the .NET tie in) because a lot of VB developers don't want to re-write their apps for .NET.
