>>Believe it or not, we still get upgrade orders from users who bought our software 10 years ago (Clipper verison back then) and want to FINALLY upgrade to a Windows version.

>A similar case happens to my brother-in-law, who sells an accounting system, made in FoxPro/DOS. Quite popular, he says. Some of his clients are quite interested in a Windows version, and we had decided to work together on it - he knows his system better, I have better knowledge of whatever is new in Visual FoxPro. But he is currently living in a far-off rural area, and it is difficult to come together, so this project is postponed. I still have hopes for the future.
I was drawn to accounting applications because I spent 15 years in public accounting. I then decided to leverage my accounting knowledge to develop software. For the most part, it's worked very well. I don't have near the advantage that I used to enjoy because there are lots of good accounting people who know software design and development.
Good luck with your development in the future.
