You know, I was about to say something along that lines in the VFP Conversion Seminar thread, but too much flaming made my mouth shut. But you just gave the exact reason I would never take a course designated to teach me a new language using another one as reference, for it will teach me how to "convert" and not how to "use" the new language. I rather go to a course where the teacher knows nothing about my current language, then I will not only learn the language syntax, but it's "paradigm" (Sorry, I am not sure if I am being clear, I am sure I did not use the best words)
