hello mike
at
http://www.biblioscape.com/rtf15_spec.htm in the RTF-Syntax Paragraph you can read about the parameter attached to control words. and further down about the "\uld" control word.
the attached parameter is one which i assign myself when creating the asci/rtf file. i must have a unique meaningfull id when user clicks on a specific word. i then check to see if this word is underlined and what the id is, and then performe certain task depending on the id i found 'attached' to that word.
i got everything working with the exception of retriving that parameter.
>After looking at the specs for version 1.6 (the same result for version 1.5) on the net I don't see any parameters being used anywhere for the dotted underline (\uld). What are the parameters meant to do?

>>Hello Everybody.
>>
>>I am looking for anoother (preferably free) activeX RTF control. i need more functionaltity then the "RichText.RichTextCtrl.1" is providing. i do not need anything fancy, the gui of the ms activeX is good enough, i am not trying to create a word processor, just diplaying a file with some additional functionality.
>>
>>when reading the RTF string with .SelRTF or .TextRTF i do not get the value which was originally in the rtf file. i think the control is 'normalizing' the codes when loading the file.
>>
>>in the file the control word i am looking for is: "\uld-123", which is a valid code attached with a parameter. after loading the file into the activeX, all that is left is the "\uld" - the parameter is gone.
>>
>>in addition i could use a Method like "HitTest()" in order to see over which word the mouse currently is.

>>thanks for all your help in advance!
