No, not sure. I haven't seen this behavior, but you might want to check out what goes over the wire using Fiddler or another HTTP proxy to make sure the XML envelope is correct. It sounds like it is - because you are getting the COM error correctly.

I used MSSOAPT to check all of the SOAP messages and all look OK. The two calls from the client are obviously identical apart from the different text and MSSOAP sends both. It just seems to choke on the incoming XML when there's an exception.

Tried this from a couple of different client machines with the same result so I doubt it's the installation. Any chance you can run the same code on your systems for comparison ..?
