Thanks for all the responses, but let me give some more detail.

Only a subset of records from the recordsource are to be displayed in the grid. So, by scanning the recordsource i will get all records in the recordsource as opposed to only those i want. Hope that makes sense. On top of that, there is a combobox control in one column (a textbox in column 2).
