I know there are some libraries of Network functions out there, maybe one of them would help. I think one of them is GPLIB (or something like that), but I can't remember the other one, sorry. Check out the downloads area here. If I remember right, I linked to the site that had those libraries from Colin's Site, so you could start there as well.
