Jos,

thanks for taking the time to answer. (In case anyone here is following the cricket, the score is currently West Indies 296 all out, SA 49 without loss.)

You make some very good points and I will take them all into consideration. I have in the past stated that my source code will be available, but have said for free. I will consider the fee.

Thanks again.

>Sorry for my lack of input on the UT lately - been busy and distracted. Frank I would say you can use some of the following options:
>
>1) In the event of the "bus" getting you offer clients that they can get the source code from your company either for free or for a price. In effect you will put the code in escrow for them under conditions that you need to set. I would'nt do it for free since your estate and/or company can still benefit from the IP your have created.

>2) Tell them that VFP is used worldwide and that developers can be found at numerous commmunities like the UT, VFUG, Wiki-Fox, Foxite and more in other countries/languages like Russia, Germany, etc. Give them the url's so that they know where to go.
>
>3) Tell them that there are excellent VFP shops both in the west and in the outsource havens of eastern Europe and Asia.
>
>4) Make contact with other developers and/or dev shops right here on the UT and ask them if they would be prepared to be contactable in event of the bus. These contacts can be briefed on your product (not necessarily with code) and their details given to your clients.

>5) Look for a partner that can leverage your business, contribute towards it, combine with it in mutually beneficial ways. It's a global village and I am sure there are people right here that would be happy to explore the options and throw that ball around with you. Independents particularly are also business people and will be looking for opportuinities.

>6) Tell your clients they live in sunny T&T - dont worry, be happy :)

>>Hey Terry,
>>
>>Thanks for the input. I agree it's best to do it with as few people as possible. But one of the problems I foresee in selling is when the prospective client says: "So, Frank, what happens if you get run over by a bus?" So I want to enusre I have a good answer to that.
>>
>>I hope Jos jumps in here. (BTW, I would have thought since you are in Houston and probably familiar with the oil industry you would know that Trinidad is in the Caribbean, just off the coast of Venezuela, closish to Guyana )
>>
Frank.
