Other than his reaction, was it significant that he ordered pigeon at the restaurant?

A man was on a deserted Island 20 years ago. Fast forward to today. He orders pigeon at a restaurant. He takes 1 bite and immediately rushes out of the restaurant and in to his hotel room where he takes his own life.
