>While I understand the benefits of the mdot notation, I don't like the "layout" or the readability of the code when used it, thus, I would like a command like SET MDOTCOMPATIBILITY OFF that will force me to prefix all fields with its aliases, and then all other references would be memory variables, making the m. notation unnecessary while not penalizing the speed. And as a side effect, no more mistakes trying to use a field from the wrong table, as they should allways have the alias.

If would ever be introduced I prefer default would be:
SET MDOTCOMPATIBILITY ON && behave as in earlier versions
so I don't need to remember to add it everywhere:)
