This is a strange one.
At some clients (just some, not all, but of course it's our biggest ones),
we're getting a C++ Runtime Library error: "Buffer overrun detected!". (How
nice of the error message to note the urgency. *s*)
It's always during the same process, but sometimes it's early and sometimes
it's late. (The process itself is just multiple iterations of a a fairly
short loop.) And sometimes the process runs to completion. (Are we having fun yet?)
Anyone seen this? Anyone got any suggestions for tracking it down? A search
for "Buffer overrun detected!" in the KB coughs up zilch, although searches
for just "Buffer overrun" gets a buncha hits (all of 'em referencing
hotfixes).
I'm sorta at a loss where to go next. I have no idea where in the code the
failure is happening because it's a C++ Runtime error so my error handler
never gets it. And, of course, there's absolutely nothing in the event log.
Anyone got a suggestion?
Dan
