I just did some digging around in the Toolbox code. Without actually tracing it, it appears there's no code in there to actually look up the image file in the VCX, except when you're dealing with a whole project. However, the necessary PEMs are there.

If you do some tracing, you may be able to figure out what needs to be changed.

I don't see any difference in behavior in VFP 9 on this.
