Sorry for the confusion that I caused when I mentioned HIPAA. Here's what I'm doing.

HIPAA is related to healthcare which requires a set of electronic data exchange standards for healthcare data exchange. I'm working on an interface to exchange data between a medical practice application and some web based system which supports https. The practice application is developed in Foxpro. I am wondering whether it would be easier for me to extend VFP code to implement this http or using others (like C++) to have an DLL/ActiveX to be used in the VFP based medical practice application.

The EDI stuff is better to deal with in C++, I feel. But it will require a lot of work too. If there is something that can be easily used in VFP for https, it might be better for me to stick with VFP at present, especially I already have some VFP code that deals with some EDI stuff.
