Denis,

Smugees may refer to VFP as "dying", but the fact is that their own current preference would collapse overnight without massive life support from its vendor. VFP would be dead indeed if it required such support.

That VFP is still here is a tribute to the 15 stalwarts inside MS, as well as the VFP community that does not require vendor marketing, cargo cult support or "early adopter" rewards to succeed. Instead we are treated to exhortations that in many cases seem to boil down to "nyah, nyah, the gizmo I (claim to) use is the coolest, and MS loves me not you, loser!" Exactly how that relates to delivering "customer value" isn't revealed. Perhaps the departure of such individuals is good for the community (if they would ever actually leave!)

Regards

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
