can you denormalize the compound field

( Ocomppuc.ccompany+Dbo.dtos(Ocomppuc.dwef) ) 

making it as real field. So you can index it in SQL server. Also do you need to used

 SELECT Ocomppuc.*;

or maybe you can use select field1,field2 it will the hamper the optimization done by SQL server in the background.

I faced problem that VFP is not responding when I open a remote view.

SELECT Ocomppuc.*;
FROM ;
OCOMPPUC Ocomppuc;
WHERE ( Ocomppuc.ccompany+Dbo.dtos(Ocomppuc.dwef) ) like ( ?PKVALUE );
AND Ocomppuc.CCOMPANY LIKE ( ?PARENTPKVALUE )
Any ideas?
