>>More resistance to a learning curve or developers not getting ready to embrace new technology as soon as it's released because with the experience they got wiser.

>uh, Hello? New Technology? ASP has been around for years, .net for about 3 years now, basic since 1982, c forever, c# (java) for years, since when is that new technology?
They're just beginning to talk about serious data-centric capabilities in VS.Net 2005. And what about security in XML?
And you call those products mature?

They call that wisdom. You don't learn things just for the sake of learning. Unless you have time to waste. If you don't need it you don't learn it.
For example if you plan a trip to Spain then learning Spanish is a good thing to do. But if instead you learn Japanese just in case you met Japanese persons there then you're not investing your time at the right place.
So if I jumped in the .Net train right away when it got out I would've probably learned things that perhaps are not there anymore or are done differently. So instead I continued to develop my apps with VFP because VFP's still the right tool for my needs. But that is for MY needs.
I'll get to .Net when I need it. In the meantime it can only get better and I don't waste my time on unfinished business.
