Remember Henry Ford, who decided to pay his workers enough of a wage that they could afford the product he made? THAT was the sensible way to do capitalism.
The present way (since the demise of western communism and the will of China to sell slavery locally) is 'to hell with the worker (and the environment and the law and morals) and max out that profit'.
We are fast reaching pre-1930 styled capitalism here (while our brothers and sisters perform slave labour in China) and we've all seen enough of how well that worked for the average Joe. Not my idea of a pleasant lifestyle!
cheers
But the problem is that >In my book, capitalism is about getting the most (money, services, value, etc.) for the least cost (in money, work, etc.) When you buy, let say, a TV, do you think that you pay for the cost of building that TV plus a (reasonable) profit? No, you pay the price that the company think that you would/could pay for it, so that they can maximise their profit. It's not about being fair and not exploiting consumers/producers.

>Many consider Wal-Mart as the main model of capitalism. Yet, it exploit workers and suppliers.

>I don't like what I see in this capitalism world, so I try to buy products that are certified "Fair Trade" (
http://www.transfairusa.org/) when I can. Of course, oil is not certified fair trade yet...

>>Can you see how this is NOT "capitalism" but some corruption that pretends to be capitalism but is a carefully applied scheme exploiting those parts of "capitalism" that maximizes their profits??? It EXPLOITS the comsumer rather than SATISFYING the consumer. That, my friend, is not capitalism.
