Thank you so much for posting that code. You certainly saved me a lot of time. I feel bad that I used up all my stars in thanking previous posters for their help but your reply is certainly deserving of a 3 star recognition. So three inline stars "***" for future visitors reading this thread.

I'm going to give your code a test run. The one glitch may be that on my XP system, the Open With dialog does NOT show up on the task bar - but does show up when alt tabbing between applications. I'll be curious to see if your code catches that nuance.

BTW: Its's that behavior that prompted me to track down a solution that would activate the Open With dialog so the user would know its actually there. Prior to this thread, my code was successfully launching the Open With dialog, its just than nobody knew the dialog was actually there :)
