well, i ve put back the old server online and this one works perfect. Tried also other appis on the new server like pcany... and these are also working fine. To answer the question of John tcp is checked and rechecked and no firewall is blocking anything.

I've reinstalled the sqlserver data engine and the entreprise manager and still nothing...
