Do you have a complicated SET PATH setting or a SET PATH setting with a path that doesn't exist? I would manually type out my SET PATH setting before issuing my COMPILE or BUILD commands to make sure there are no problems with your paths and to make sure that you are only using the minimun number of paths to have your project compile.

Does this fix your problem?
