A backup of an MSSQL database running on enterprise edition was made by copying the two files from the data directory by an MIS manager who is planning to replace a customized VB program centered around it. I have been given the copy and the task of reprogramming their system in VFP.

Is it possible to just copy the MSSQL (enterprise edition) database files to the data directory of an MSSQL desktop engine and open it through SQL-passthrough like MySQL?

If yes, please tell me how?
