Hi Jos,

the data is imported whenever an update is received (which is prbably quarterly but can be more often than that) and then it is static. So I can create any indexes when the data is imported and then forget about it. Is phdbase still around?

>Frank, the problem you are going to have is whether the data you want to search is static or if it is still being added to. PHDbase would index new data as it was added to the files. It has its faults for sure but they could often be worked around if you wanted to make the effort. dtSearch is a good product but will not update dynamically as the database changes. You will need to update the dtSearch index when ever you want to have an up to date index to search in. It is possible to build custom solutions of course but takes more time. Where is the data? Is it dynamically being updated? Must the search use the dynamically updated data?
