Putting a call to the calculation method in the Form::Refresh did the trick. I swear I had tried this 5, 6 ... times already. The missing piece was that I needed to do DODEFAULT() first. I didn’t use it before because “View Parent Code” was disabled and I didn’t think that I was overriding higher level code.

This shows my Visual ignorance. I thought that native code executed regardless.
