How can the site be taking advantage of anyone if the program is free? yes the people do need counseling, but we have to start somewhere. As you know the first real step in any addiction is the admitting that you have an addiction. Then step by step the person can get down the right road. As for your 'atheist' statement, well that is your choice and everyone has one. I have chosen another path and I have also chose to say a prayer for you and your decision to be an atheist.

>Yes, porn addiction is real and is a real problem. It can easily destroy an addict as beer can destroy an alcoholic. I'm not against offering help to those peoples, but as an atheist, the approach taken by xxxchurch look to me as a way to take advantage of their vulnerability. These peoples need conseling, not endoctrination.

>>Your statement 'The target audience is not those already using porn'. I will have to disagree with you on that. The software is an accountability software. So the target audience is those that have a problem and are asking for help. A speaker, that was linked to the organization, came to our church to talk to our teenagers. He talked on various topics such as music, movies, teen sex, and porn. There were those in the church who came to him and declared that they had a problem. The internet was allowing them access to places that they knew was not appropriate. The internet is a good tool and used wisely can help all, but it is also a tool that can lead many people down the wrong road. So these teens installed the accountability tool on their computer and asked for the youth minister to be their accountability partner. We also had teens getting their friends to be their accountability partner. So you see the program is their for parents as a preventative tool, but was used in
>>our case to help people who were going to internet sites that they knew they should not and needed help controlling this urge. I am sure that there are people reading this who can be critical that this would work, but the bottom line for me is that porn can be as dangerous as drugs. And anything that we can do to help those who admit to a problem and want help is beneficial.
