If I rememeber correctly, you have to set up a valid IP address (subnet mask and default gateway) in the emulator.
Tap on Setup->Connection->Advanced->Network card->Ethernet Driver and type the valid values.
(I have translated from italian version so be careful!).
After that, share a directory on the desktop, and from Pocket File Exlorer you should be able to connect to the shared dir.

But the desktop pc MUST be connected to your LAN.
If your desktop is NOT connected to the LAN, the emulator will never be able to "see" the desktop.
In this case you have to install something called "microsoft loopback adapter" which emulate your desktop connected to a LAN.
It's crazy but it is so ....
I have never installed the loopback adapter, I think you should do some search on microsoft.com

>I deploy a project to a PocketPC emulator which works well - it copies the .EXE to the Pocket PC emulator. Now I need to copy an XML file from my computer to the Pocket PC emulator. But I can't seem to find a way to do it. If open Windows Explorer, navigate to the file and they Copy it to clipboard, the Pocket PC Paste is disabled (it does not "see") the PC clipboard.
