Wow, I have been under a false belief for years. When I was attending elementary school in Wisconsin, we learned that the Canadian Thanksgiving was originally celebrated for King Edward's recovery from an illness and then later simply for thanking GOD for blessings of food (seemed even more religious oriented than our celebration here in the states). So much for our public schools! Of course it could be my memory that is wrong... (very likely in fact! *G*)
