Sure the below is a simple example:

Go to File, New> and select Outlook Data File...
In the New Outlook Data File window, select Personal Folder File (.pst) and click on OK.
In the Create or Open Outlook Data File window, go to My Documents (or where ever you want it physically stored on your hard drive - I use a seperate folder on my local drive). Enter the name of the folder (it is Personal Folders by default but you can change it) and click on OK.
When the Create Microsoft Personal Folders window appears, you can enter a password and set the encryption level. click on OK to create the folder. It should now show up in your folders list.

Then you add subfolders to it just like you do for your main folder (File, folder, New Folder) or right-click on the folder and select new Folder... .

You just drag & drop messages from one folder to another (I usually drag directly from the inbox to one of my personal folders).

This is interesting. Can you please tell me how you set a new personal folder? And how do you copy, say some messages, from you "standard" folder (Outlook.pst) to another one?

>>You're welcome. Also, just in case you weren't aware, you can name the personal folder anything you like - I set up multiple personal folders and then subcategorize them into smaller separate folders such as:

I am assuming you are referring to folders in your personal folders (.pst) file (which was limited to file size) and not the mailbox .pst file itself (which is limited by the administrator)? If so, there was a limit to the file size of 1.82GB but that was fixed in a hotfix for Outlook 2002.
