>>Shoulda stayed British then! You mean Canadians get the same paltry amount of vacs as the US? (and then you go and waste them by holing up in a cottage on some lake! :-)

>Hey, how did you know I rent a cottage by the lake every June?
Why, ALL Canadians do! It's your national duty! :-)

>>How would one have a summer holiday then, say, a week skiing (but I guess you guys don't have to go too far for that and can have several weekends at it)?

>Skiing is a winter thing. It's a 45 minute drive after work. Night skiing is big business here in Quebec. The hill are usually open till 11 every night.
Skiing is a winter thing? Even in snowless England I could have figured that out! :-)
But like I said, you lot don't have to book a week's vacation and schlep off to Austria, etc. like we do - very expensive and, by the time you've learned to ski, it's time to go home again till next year. The closest we've got is Avimore in Scotland, but you might as well go to the Continent as there!
