In California we have rich traditions given to us from Spain and Mexico. Today is a day celebrated in the United States more so than in Mexico. It is a bit like the Irish in the United States celebrating Saint Patrick’s Day, which has been going on since 1737 in the United States, and first celebrated in Ireland in the early 1980’s.

The sign stated, “Today’s special: Viennese, French Roast”. I cracked up and laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes. The manager said, “You are the only person who got the joke”!
