One downside to that though is when they let up on the mouse, the real Click event will occur and they'll move one more record...

Normally I would want to call a form specific method ("events should call methods"), but I'm thinking about a generic solution for this specific customer and I have no control over what their developers may or may not have put in a specific control's Click() method.
