Both will work. RVs are a bit safer, but can be a pain. Be sure not to use Select * in any RVs, or they will need to be recompiled within the DBC every time the SQL table changes structure. I worked with a VFP to SQL app for many years.....

Also check out Client/Server Applications with Visual FoxPro and SQL Server by Urwiler, DeWitt, Levy, and Koorhan - published by Hentzenwerke (of course ;)).
