The ActiveX progress bar that comes with VFP 5.0 works, but only after a fashion. I have mine in a container object on a modeless background form. It springs into action when a table is being looked up to fill the form, but disappears when a modal dialog form is opened. Quite bizarre. Then it reappears when the modal form is released. Most of the time, that is. When it doesn't appear, it's gone for good, even though it continues to accept method calls.

Why are all these ActiveX controls such prima donnas?
