Thanks. Those are exactly the two concerns I had as well. Unfortunately, I'm not resposible for the SPs or the database on the receiving end of the process. In fact, there are 3 separate firms involved. Passing a COM object is a major change to make while I'm on vacation. In fact, I've only used COM as a server, not as a parameter to be passed to a SP. How does that work? I usually use remote views, not SPT with a SP to update remote tables. In any case, it sounds like it would be best to try to delay the implementation until I return so we can do the job right and complete proper testing.
