One solution is to store your images in an external table, i.e. images.dbf and store just the reference to the table position -- usually just the row and field -- in your principal data table. Not only does this enhance the performance of your main data table, but permits you to group images into varous extental tables accoring to their function. That way you can control the size of your tables if size is a problem.
